importance of intelligent mold design for thermoforming processes cannot
be overstated. Custom Plastic Forming has invested heavily in talented
designers, machinists and the equipment necessary to produce the majority
of our molds in-house. That provides the ultimate control over production
schedules.
Thermoform molds can be produced
from a wide range of materials, depending on the size of the part, quantity
of parts being produced, detail and accuracy as well as other factors.
In many instances, molds can be made from wood or wood combined with other
materials in a "fabricated" assembly. This type of mold is produced
entirely in our facility utilizing our CNC routers, machining centers and
other resources.
Cast aluminum molds, typically
used for longer production runs, begin their lives with our CAD designers.
Once created, the designs are transferred to our CNC routers that produce
